Following 97 nominations from the community, we’re delighted to announce that Angelina has been selected as the recipient of The St Ferrer Impact Build 2026.
Nominated by Jay, her best friend of 43 years, Angelina will receive this year’s one-day refurbishment, providing practical support to her and her family.
Angelina is a single mother of three young children and works as a school teacher. She has lived in her home for 11 years while facing ongoing financial pressure. Over time, keeping up with the property has become increasingly difficult. Between raising her children, working and helping care for her elderly mother nearby, there is very little time or capacity left for major maintenance. Angelina has been doing the best she can, but the day-to-day demands have often felt overwhelming.
The property is a standalone home located in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Built in the 1970s, the white weatherboard house has already been the setting for many shared memories for Angelina and her children. With support through The St Ferrer Impact Build, the home can continue to be a place they enjoy for many years to come.

Jay shared what the opportunity means for Angelina and her family.
“Thank you so very much to Chris and his team for this incredible life-changing opportunity for my bestie. This really is a dream come true, as it is going to help her and her beautiful children thrive and live their best lives, which is all you want for the people you love. Sending big heartfelt thanks, happy, healthy and fabulous wishes to all involved in transforming her home into the warm and safe environment she deserves. Thank you.”
Following inspection and assessment by St Ferrer, the works have been shaped around the areas that will make the greatest difference to Angelina’s family.
The one-day refurbishment will address essential maintenance items inside and outside the home, from internal repairs, painting, heating and cooling, and improved storage, through to fencing, roof repairs, garden works and deck restoration. A key focus will be creating a more secure backyard where Angelina’s children and dog can safely spend time.
The Impact Build Day will now take place on Friday 21 August 2026.
The revised date will allow St Ferrer additional time to bring the right trades, suppliers and project partners on board. St Ferrer is continuing to welcome support from those who would like to contribute their time, materials, products or services to the initiative.
A heartfelt thank you to our partners who have already come on board:
